[It's snowing! And Whale Island might be cold sometimes, but one thing it doesn't have even on the very top of the island is lots of snow. Gon is laughing merrily somewhere behind the blurry video feed as he runs several steps, and turns to reveal a mountain of it that he's collected: a good ten feet tall, maybe, though it's hard to tell from his height.

It's not exactly sculpted into much, but there it is: lots of snow.]

Hey, Killua! Come help me! I'm gonna make a snow Gonta!

[Pause, and he grins at the video, because, right: there's a lot of other people on the network too!]

Everybody, does it snow a lot where you're from? What do you like doing?

It snows during winter! Me an' Brother make snowmen!

Yeah, that's what I wanted to do first! [He pats down the lower levels of his snow-mountain, grinning.]

It's fun. [So he's not wearing gloves and his fingers are getting a little red... it's not that bad!]

Gonta?

He's a fox-bear! He's one of my friends back on Whale Island.

[...how does he do those ears in snow. Maybe he could use sticks...]

A fox-bear that lives on Whale Island, huh? What an interesting world you live in.

[And she's a bit curious to see what it'll look like.]

Yeah, Whale Island is where I'm from! It's named that because it kind of looks like one...

[Okay, he's going to go with sticks! He's got a small stack of ones that he was going to use for arms, but Gonta's arms are too big to make with sticks anyway. One jump gets him high enough to stick a single ear in before he lands again: one more and Gonta has both ears in place.]

Don't you have fox-bears where you're from?

Not that I know of, no. I wouldn't even know what that looks like.

That's weird!

Um -- they're about this tall, and -- [a couple more jumps, and he's managed to pat the head into something rounder, with a snout taking shape] they've got a long nose, and long ears, and tail...

Weird? Fox-bear is what's weird. In my world, we have foxes and bears but you know, seperately.

Sounds like a giant monster fox.

But he's kind of built like a bear, too! [Casting a grin in the direction of the PCD.] Anyway, Gonta's not a monster. He can't talk.

[A small smirk.] Not all monsters can talk.

How do you two communicate, then?

No, that's the difference! A monster can talk but a wild beast can't.

[Bouncing up and down a few more times to try and shape the broad slumped shoulders under the head. It's working, more or less! It'd just be easier if he were six feet tall.] We just understand each other. I took care of him when he was little, 'cause -

[He sobers slightly at the thought of Kite, still waiting broken at home.] - I got caught in the forest and his mother attacked me and a friend of mine had to kill her and he would've died of hunger if I didn't feed him.

[A shrug.] It might work that way in your world.

I see. In my world, some people manage to tame and raise wild animals this way as well.

I guess so. It doesn't mean anything bad, it's just how we describe them.

He's not tame! He's still the king of the forest, but we get along anyway. [The arm, held down by his snow-fox-bear's side, is easier to sculpt; he busily pats it into a shaggy limb with bits of stick for claws.]

I'm coming, I'm coming!

[Though he's grabbing a scarf first, kthx.]

Okay! I'm gonna need some help. [Craning his neck back to get a look at the mound.] I think I kind of made it too big.

Geez. Always over the top in everything you do!

But I wanted to make it as big as Gonta!

[He wonders over, a dubious expression taking over him as he observes Gon's work-in-progress.]

Are we gonna need a ladder?

Maybe you could give me a boost? Or I could give you one.

[Or maybe they're gonna need a ladder, yeah.]

No way am I gonna do it. You'd move around too much.

[And that's final, thankyouverymuch.]

We can at least find something to stand on.

I would not... [Well. If he's going to be making a snow sculpture, can he even do that standing still?

But we can find something to stand on! That way we could both work on it. [Looking around. Maybe they can find something in the junkyard...]

[He trails off as he meanders around the Gundam building in search of his quarry.]

Oh yeah! Good idea. I saw it the other day over there! C'mon!

[He charges past Killua toward the far side of the building.]

[His eyes widen when Gon breezes past him, and he's still for a moment before taking off after his friend with a huff.]
