[003. video]

[He's frowning intently when the video feed starts, but he doesn't hesitate to speak. This has been eating at him for a few days now -- and he can't figure it out himself; so finally he thought he might as well ask...

Maybe someone knows.]

How can you tell what's real?

[That's it; he gives a quick nod and cuts the feed.]

It's not home. To think of being trapped here for the rest of your life- how would you like it?

[identity profile] freecssofnature.livejournal.com 2011-11-25 12:53 am (UTC)(link)
I wouldn't. But people go home all the time, right?

There are those who have been here for years, too.

[identity profile] freecssofnature.livejournal.com 2011-11-25 12:55 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, I know.

But nobody ages, and when you go home it's the same time as you left... right?

The prince wouldn't know.

How would they be certain of how it will be when we return?

[personal profile] impertinenti 2011-11-25 08:35 pm (UTC)(link)
Then, how do you know?

[identity profile] freecssofnature.livejournal.com 2011-11-25 09:03 pm (UTC)(link)
[Killua wouldn't have told him that if it wasn't true, but...]

Do you think it's not true?

Do you think it is?

[identity profile] freecssofnature.livejournal.com 2011-11-25 10:37 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes. Because so many people wouldn't agree if it was just a guess, right?

They would, to make this place seem less troublesome than it is.

[identity profile] freecssofnature.livejournal.com 2011-11-26 06:08 am (UTC)(link)
But there are people who come from different times, and the later ones say the earlier ones were never missing.

Alternate dimensions.

It's just as probable as their assumptions.

[identity profile] freecssofnature.livejournal.com 2011-11-28 02:12 am (UTC)(link)
...So you don't have any reason to think so?

[personal profile] impertinenti 2011-11-28 02:17 am (UTC)(link)
There are plenty of alternate dimensions, all branching off from one's decision to go one way or another, certain tiny changes that are made.

For instance, the timeline which I disappeared would be one without me in it, which would change details involving me. But timelines would branch off, ones which I have not disappeared from.

[Frowning, and clearly thinking more seriously about this.] But if no one's ever come here who does remember someone else leaving....

Then, we're all from alternate dimensions.

Why would they take us from our worlds and put us here?

[identity profile] freecssofnature.livejournal.com 2011-11-30 12:27 am (UTC)(link)
I don't know, but isn't it a lot harder to pick every person from a slightly different world? Where nothing's changed except that the other person they took isn't gone?

[personal profile] impertinenti 2011-11-30 09:34 am (UTC)(link)
Well, why not? Maybe the timeline we disappear from fades onto a different track than the timeline was supposed to follow, thus, the next time they pull another of us out, it's from the main timeline, which then branches off into another off of the main when said person disappears.
