[Oh look, it's the loud boy from yesterday... only this time he's wearing a (slightly) embarrassed grin and waving at the video pickup.]

Hello! I'm Gon Freecss! It's nice to meet you!

[--and bowing, deeply, for a second before he bounces back to vertical.] I'm really sorry I yelled at everybody yesterday! [And really glad everybody but Killua just heard him over the phone, so he didn't hurt anyone, because that would have been really bad...]

I understand about this place now, so don't worry. But I wanted to ask if anybody could tell me more. About the animals here, or the Animus, or anything!

Oh boy he hopes that makes up for it. He doesn't even know who that girl was who sounded really scared.... quickly, he grins at the video pickup, and cuts the feed.]

The animals? Well, within the city walls there are rabbits and cats that are... unusually vicious, with teeth they're not afraid to use, so watch out for them.

There are more dangerous creatures out in the Wastes. A lot of sand worms.

As for the Animus--well, I'm not the best person to ask--but they're the spirits who control who here comes and goes, as well as causing things called "events" periodically.

Sand worms? [A worm... made out of sand? That lives in the sand? He frowns.] How big are they?

I'm Usagi. I can help a bit if you want, but that's a lot to try to explain at once.

Big enough to be dangerous... some twice as long as I am tall.

[She should know. At one point she threw a fit and went killing more of them than she could possible put to use.]

Um... can you tell me about the Animus? [Sango's going for "animals," after all!]

Has anybody taken videos of them?

They're the ones who bring us here. They're supposed to be gods or spirits or something like that... but they don't really seem like it except for being powerful. One of them's called Thalatte, and one of them has a lot to do with fire.

[Juliet somehow missed the yelling yesterday, so her first impression of him is of a very polite young man. She smiles kindly and curtsies.]

What is it you wish to know? There are many things one can speak to regarding the city.

We don't know that for sure. There's lots of different voices whenever they talk to us, though.

You were fighting it? How tough are they?

[The question gives her pause, and she takes a moment to think.]

The most important thing.... To me, it is that there is always someone here on whom you may rely. Should you ever need help, there will be one of us who comes to your aid. There are so many kind people here, so many willing to reach out to those in similar circumstance. Nothing is truly hopeless here, so long as there is even one kind soul who offers aid.

Because every couple weeks, they do weird things with them. Like, different clothes or something funny one time, but other times it's serious or dangerous.

Yeah.

Actually, you probably know more than me.

[Oh, right! Killua mentioned something like that.]

But that's all? They don't ever come out where people can see?

No. And if we go where they are, they do even more to us, like making people's powers weaker or manipulating our minds.

We have to work a bit harder to find the way to defeat them.

[That's not really what he meant. He's looking blank for a few seconds.

--but then he smiles brightly.]

That's good!

But I mean about the city.

[Hehe.] So do you have any questions?

[He hates the fact that they can't just charge straight in.]

There are a lot of different people here, right? Maybe if we found out what everybody can do we could come up with a plan.

Right. That's why those people come together to work on it.
